Krithi International Festival of Books and Authors

Autism Club Ernakulam chapter got an opportunity to have a stall for 10 days during the Krithi Book Fest 2020 (Feb 6th to Feb 16th). Books written by individuals on Autism, parents and other autism related books were exhibited. Various editions of Autism Voice magazine were also put for sale.

The products of Autism Skill Development Service -  cloth bags and paper pens won the heart of the people.

On 15th February, 2020, there was a grand talent show -  "Spectrum Spectacle", exhibiting the various talents of individuals on the spectru, Famous Malayalam writer Mr Francis Noronah inaugurated the function.

Songs, day predictions, Speed math captured the attention of the public.

The unique musical show- where the lyrics, composing, singing and background music all were done by individuals on Autism Spectrum, was the first of its kind in the history.

Autism Skill Development Service  - Ernakulam

Every Saturday parents and children of Ernakulam Autism Club meet at Govt L P School Thrikkakara for the life skill and vocational training. Other training like Yoga, Brain Gym, craft work, games are also included.

We started vocational training with paper pens, which the people on the spectrum learnt very fast . The venture continued with cloth bag making which again was a huge success. The stitching of the bags were done by parents , whereas the fabric painting, heat printing, block printing, putting string, ironing , folding, wrapping all were done by individuals on the spectrum. We have started our third training – training on notepad making.

For life skill training, we started from folding cloths, using scissors, money management, shopping, crossing road, ironing etc, We start with mock drills inside the school , then go live on roads, supermarkets etc. This has helped the children tremendously.

A bunch of volunteers from Wipro Technologies, Infopark and CUSAT came forward to help us in computer training. Involvement of parents along with their proper guidance have made good development in the children.

We got good orders of paper pans from many corporates and CUSAT. We exhibited our products during many exhibitions and shows including many at Infopark and the result was very much encouraging.


“Heart To Heart “  is an online portal , launched by Autism Club, Ernakulam, to showcase the products by individuals on the autism spectrum.The first sale of “Heart to Heart “ was also done during the inauguration of ASDS. The young businessman Mr Safwan M A, gave his products to Mr Sabu C G

Autism Awareness Day 2019 celebrations

At Ernakulam it was celebrated in association with Lulu shopping mall with lot of wonderful programs by individuals with autism. There was an awareness walk too, our children holding awareness placards.

At Alapuzha , the day was celebrated with a long march through the city and the beech.

Art of Autism

In Association with LULU shopping mall, Edapally, Autism Club conducted an online exhibition at the Facebook page of LULU shopping mall, Edapally. It was done as a part of autism awareness month - April 2019.  30 artists from all over the India participated in it and made the event a big success.


As a part of Krithi International Book Fair 2019, Autism Club got an opportunity to display the talents of individuals with autism through a half day stage program called “Spectrum Spectacle”. Singer Mr Hisham inaugurated the function. Many rare abilities were displayed like mind reading, speed math, day prediction and speed drawing. Various stage performances in music and musical instruments won the heart of the audience.

Outsider Art

In Outsider Art, an outreach program by Kochi Muzhiris Biennale 2018, thirty artists from various parts of the country participated. From the 62 paintings displayed, 30 paintings were sold.

World Autism Awareness Day Celebrations 2018


In association with Social Justice Department of Kerala, Autism Club Thiruvananthapuram, celebrated "Light it up blue" where the whole museum and its surroundings were lit with blue light.Social Justice special secretary, Mr Biju Prabhakar inaugurated the function. Social Justice Director, Dr Mohammed Asheel, Sri George Onakoor also attended the function. There was a music show by Master Athul Fathah.


Ernakulam chapter of Autism Club celebrated autism awareness day at Lulu Mall, Edappaly. Famous music director, Mr Alex Paul inaugurated the function.The Autism Phoenix award of the year was given to Mr Arun Prasad. A cartoon session by Mr Ibrahim Badhusha, the vice-chairman of Cartoon Academy added more colors to the function.There were several programs by our talented kids.

KRITHI International Book Fair

Autism Club had a stall on the 10 days(March 1- March 10, 2018) Krithi International Book fair, where the books of our children and autism related books were exhibited. "Moonlight" - the book by Sherin Mary Zacharia was launched by famous poet Sri. S Sachidanandan. Musical performances by talented kids attracted large audience during the book fair.

KRITHI Literature Festival

Autism Club got a golden opportunity to present a session on Autistic Writers on March 10th at Bolgatty Palace in association with Krithi Literature Festival.Dr Mohammed Asheel, director of social justice department, Dr C P Aboobacker, young writers like Sherin Mary Zacharia, Neerada Sasheendran, Jithin Jayakumar, Nayan S, Aadinarayanan attended the session.

Inauguration of Kottayam Chapter

Kottayam Chapter of Autism Club was inaugurated at Bethesda Auditorium, Kottayam by Sri Jose K Mani, M.P. The children's day edition of the 'Autism Voice' will also launched in that ceremony. 

State committee meeting of Autism club 

State level meeting of executive committee was held at Hotel Sealord, Ernakulam on 21st October 2017.

Workshop by Smt Akila Vaidhyanath

A two days workshop was conducted on PECS and RPM by Akila Vaidhyanath at Hotel Sealord, Ernakulam on 6th and 7th of October 2017.

Autism Pride Day

June 18, Autism Pride day was celebrated by the various chapters of Autism club. Miss Sherin Mary Zacharia, winner of Autistic Marvel award, organized by National Trust and AIIMs, was honored at the function at Ernakulam.

Awareness cycle ride across Kerala

April is the month for autism awareness. As a part of this, 2 students of College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram- Muhamed Musadhiq and Gopalakrishnan S, pedalled 860 km on their bicycles from Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram. It took four days - April 13th to April 16th.During this ride, they were warmly received by autism clubs of different places.Mr Sivadas Ak and Mr Habeeb Emmen accompanied the cycle ride. "Autism is not an illness" - was the main message of the cycle ride. 

Launch of "Super Siblings"

The sacrifices of siblings of children with autism are the least noted one.They play a major role in the life of autistic children, at times they do wonders than parents.On the autism awareness day, April 2, 2017, autism club started a group for them with the name "Super Siblings". It was a heart touching moment when the sibling lined up with a candle in their hand.Mr Rohit Ninan Pradeep was selected as the president and Miss Sreerenjini Prasannarajan was selected the secretary of the group.It is sure that this group will do magic in spreading awareness and upbringing the children with autism. 

Parental training classes at Ernakulam

Dr C P Abobacker took 10 days class for parents/ professionals/ interested people at Chavara Special School, Koonammavu, Ernakulam from July 16th , 2016. The reality of autism and the various strategies to manage the children with autism were explained in these classes.

Alapuzha - parental training classes

10 days parental training was conducted by Alapuzha autism club, from 2nd May 2016. The class was taken by Dr. C P Aboobacker and parents found it very useful. 

Wayanad picnic and meeting

Many families from different parts of Kerala made the 2 day picnic at wayanad a wonderful one. The visit to Edakkal caves, tea factory, Pookod lake and various worth seeing places were ever memorable. The visit to Muthanga ooru was an entirely different experience. Children enjoyed all of them maximum.

Families from Mysore too joined us and shared their experiences. Official meeting was done in the evenings 

World Autism day

April 2nd was world autism day. All the chapters of Autism club celebrated this event fabulously with various cultural programs and workshops.The clubs also honored children with special talents on this occasion. Our newsletter "Autism Voice" was published on this day.

The official launch of our website was done by film director Sree Sidhique, at Chavara Cultural Centre, Ernakulam. 

Celebrated Aspergers day

As a part of International Asperger's day, a meeting was held at Chalakudy Kellyls Park Inn. Talk on Dr Hans Asperger and Asperger's syndrom was conducted. Two of our savants- Ashwin Ragu from Tirur and Shahul from Palaghat displayed their special abilities, which were covered by media. Autism club honored these savants.

Autism Sunday - 14th Feb

Every second Sunday of the month February is celebrated as "Autism Sunday". This day is considered as the "International day of prayers for Autism and Aspergers children". Autism club spread awareness to the nook and corner of the state through newsletters and short talks, especially in the churches.

Workshop on "Spiritual Dimension of Autism"

Autism society is blessed with savants, who can read minds and write about things which they have never studied. Dr. C P Aboobacker has done a thorough study about this and he explains these behaviors scientifically. The classes were done in two parts, first on December 21st, 2015 and the second on January 24th, 2016

Workshop by Dr Jagathy Nair

Autism club Ernakulam conducted a 1 day workshop by Dr Jagathy Nair on behavior and communication aspects of autism. Dr Jagathy Nair is working as special educator at Royal Palm School in Palm Beach County, Florida. The class was very useful to both parents and professionals.

Workshop on Brain gym

Brain gym is set of exercises which stimulates all parts of the brain. Parents have experienced that practicing it on regular basis gives a very good and quick result. Autism club has conducted several classes on Brain Gym.
