Employment assistance


Employment assistance is given in "manual”, "semi-skilled" and "skilled" areas. A proper analysis of the child is done before training him in the corresponding areas. Every year an "employment campaign" will be organized, when we directly meet as many employers as possible and explain them the specialties of Autism. We try to convince them showing the previous work of our children. We are yet to go a long way in employment area, here are our plans below:-
In spite of their high skill and best quality, many of the autistics fail to impress the employers initially, because of their speciality in soft skills. Considering this, we have split a step by step process of employment.




1. Work in autism friendly atmosphere.

Autism club creates an autism friendly atmosphere, where the people can work to their comfort. We know that our children have sensory issues and in between the work they may want to run for a minute or beat the drum for a while. This cannot be allowed in a company atmosphere, but in this friendly atmosphere, we can allow such behaviours, gradually reducing it. The work can be anything like labelling/packing unit or a data entry project. The mentors ensure that the work is done in the given time with high quality. It is not a strictly 10 am - 5 pm job, but we gradually train them for it.


2. Working in the company with a mentor

Each parent wants their child to work like every other person, as a distinguished staff in the company following the rules of company. Initially our children find in difficult. To compensate this, we will be providing a mentor along with a group of 5-6 autistic people to the company. The mentor knows them deeply and should be able to handle their behaviour issues without spoiling the company atmosphere. Once our children are set to the routine of the company, they will follow it perfectly. We can ask the company to provide a calming room for them.


3. Working independently among other staffs in the company


After getting the assistance of mentors for a few weeks, autistic people get glued to the company routine. We are sure that the employers would love the work done by them as they are highly workaholic and perfectionist in their interested work. Our society do have good people and I am sure in these companies too, people will accept our children in spite of their small differences. After all, who can deny their unconditional love and pure attitude?


The issue of rehabilitation lessens to a huge extent, once our children earn a notable amount of money by themselves. We do believe in their potentials!
